Athleticism, Strength and Grace!
The Palmetto City Ballet Youth Showcase celebrates the dedication, discipline, and artistry of the young dancers enrolled in the company’s renowned training program. Throughout the season, these students have immersed themselves in a rigorous curriculum rooted in classical ballet technique, supported by dynamic adjunct studies in jazz and contemporary movement.
This performance offers families, friends, and the broader community an inspiring look at the dancers’ growth. Audiences will experience a curated selection of technique class demonstrations, showcasing the foundational skills, precision, and musicality developed in the studio. The program also features classical ballet variations, allowing students to embody iconic repertoire and apply their technical training to expressive performance.
Adding to the excitement, the showcase will open with a special performance by Palmetto City Broadway, a vibrant splinter group within the school dedicated to theatrical dance and storytelling. They will kick off the event with an all‑dance interpretation of Little Shop of Horrors, bringing the beloved cult classic to life through bold movement, character-driven choreography, and high‑energy ensemble work. This dynamic opener highlights the dancers’ versatility and the breadth of training offered within the Palmetto City Ballet family.
Together, these elements highlight not only what the dancers have learned, but also who they are becoming—artists with strength, versatility, and a deepening passion for their craft. The Youth Showcase stands as a testament to their hard work and the exceptional instruction that defines Palmetto City Ballet’s commitment to excellence.

Our Season Performances
A ballet season built around Dracula, The Nutcracker, and Cinderella promises a sweeping journey through fantasy, folklore, and timeless storytelling. Audiences are invited into the dark, seductive world of Dracula, followed by the sparkling holiday magic of The Nutcracker, and finally the romantic triumph of Cinderella. Together, these productions create a season that blends drama, wonder, and classic charm—offering something unforgettable for every ballet lover.
Venue Food & Drink Policy
Only bottled water can be brought into the seating area. Concessions are available at most performances and can be enjoyed in the lobby areas before a show and during intermissions. No outside food and drinks are allowed in the building.
Venue Parking
Several parking lots and on-street metered spaces are located near the Sottile Theatre. The closest parking garage is around the corner on St. Philip Street, between George and Wentworth streets. Please review our guest parking page for more information. Some metered on-street parking is available on surrounding streets and is often free in the evenings. (Please refer to the City of Charleston's Parking Meters page or on the meter itself for free vs. paid times, as they can vary.)
